My grandmother was a waitress. ( con las profesiones en singular ponemos a " a teacher , a doctor")
Her café ( su de chica es her ) was near the hotel.
My books were ( los libros son 3ª persona de plural=ellos y con ellos "they" ponemos were ) new.
The cushions weren't on the table.
They were on the chair.
The first sentence was very easy . (  Frase es 3ª persona de singular it = cosa , entonces con it ponemos was).
