SESSION 1

We start again with the Lesson 2 Unit 5.

Open your class books and we are going to listen the  vocabulary in the exercise 1  page 43

Then ,you have to complete the exercises 1,2 and 3 page 52 ,activity book.

Affirmative

I was              yo era,estaba,fui o estuve
You were      tú eras , estabas ,fuiste o estuviste
He was           él    era , estaba ,fue o estuvo
She was         ella era, estaba ,fue o estuvo
It was              (cosa o animal) era,estaba,fue o estuvo
We  were       nosotros éramos,estábamos ...
You were      vosotros erais, estabais,fuisteis...
They were     ellos eran ,estaban, fueron ,estuvieron

Negative

You have to add  "not " :   was not , were not

I was                yo no era , no estaba , no fui , no estuve
You weren't
He wasn't
She wasn't
It wasn´t
We weren't

they weren't

Interrogative

Was I ? Yes, you were / No,you weren't
Were you ? Yes, I was / No,I wasn't
Was he ? Yes ,he was / No,he wasn´t

Was she ? Yes,she was / No, she wasn't
Was it ? Yes,it was / No ,it wasn´t
Were we ?
Were you?
Were they ? yes,they were / No, they weren't

Examples :
 Yo estuve en el colegio ayer
Afirmativa : I was at school yesterday.
Negativa :   I wasn't at school (yo no estuve)
Interrogativa : Was I at school yesterday? (¿estuve yo?

OJO     important question  !!!!

Where were you yesterday?
¿dónde estuviste tú ayer?

I was + place + time
yo estuve + lugar + hora

 I was at home at quarter past eight
Estuve en casa a las ocho y cuarto

Let´s review  :   o'clock ,halfpast,quarter past/to, minutes past/to

Cuando queremos decir el lugar donde estuvimos se pone at

Ex:  at school, at home, at the hotel, at the cinema ....
